ART AND COLOR

Enter into a fascinating world of Cuban art and familiarize yourself with its important projects in the historic center.

• Take a guided tour specialized in the collection of Cuban art from the Museum of Fine Arts.

• Depending on availability, visit three of these highly important institutions: Galleries of famous Cuban artists in the historic center, home of experimental burning located at the Plaza de la Catedral, Gallery La Casona and the Center for the development of the visual arts on the Vieja Plaza, paper factory and the home of Carmen Montilla.

HEMINGWAY’S HAVANA

Visit the symbolic places of Havana where the famous American writer Ernest Hemingway lived. Discover the sites frequented by the writer, which later became some of the scenes of his more known stories.

• Take a guided tour of La Finca La Vigia, the former residence of the writer, which is today transformed; and a museum is now dedicated to him and his work.

• La Terraza of Cojimar, the tomb of the writer and his old fisherman and captain, the late Gregorio Fuentes. This is where he wrote the infamous “The old man and the sea”. Visit the monument dedicated to the writer.

• The Ambos Mundos Hotel with room 511 where the writer periodically visited throughout those years 30. You can taste a cocktail on the roof where you also get one of the most beautiful views of the city.

• La Bodeguita del Medio and La Floradita, the bars he went to most often.

CEREMONY OF CANNONS

The military fortifications built by the Spanish in Latin America represent the very foundation on which Havana and the new world are built.
